An Engagement Shoot in Florida
This is the most fun I have had on an engagement shoot. What’s not to like about sunny Florida, a fishing boat, sandbars full of seashells, fishing in the ocean, and a great couple to spend the day with?
Dan and Bes, felt a bit uncomfortable in front of the camera (95% of the population does). However, I think they will see the images and notice they come across well on camera. I loved their physical contact, flirty air, and sense of humor.
We began the day at the crack of dawn. We cruised around Fort Myers Bay all morning exploring the water, sandbars, and mangroves. When my stomach began to growl (it was quite loud) we headed in for a nice lunch. After lunch and a not-so-quick clothing change we drove to Sanibel and Captiva for the remainder of the afternoon.
I wish more of our out-of-town couples would consider having me travel to photograph them in the cities they reside. Instead of having a few hours with me, we spend the entire day or weekend running around to capture the places they feel passionate about.
I often hear my mom or dad speak of the times they lived in California, Texas, or Missouri and wish I could see images of the places they talk of and more importantly what they looked like when they fell in love. We are only young once and now is the perfect opportunity to capture these tiny moments in time. It is also a treat for me to travel and photograph in a new territory.
Thanks to Bes and Dan for flying me out to capture a day in their life. It was a nice treat and I truly enjoyed my time with both of them. I look forward to seeing them on their wedding day...August 4th at the Columbia Club.

P.S. I forgot all of the seashells from the sandbar I collected for Elin. Good thing she does not know or expect any gifts yet.

Gr8 stuff, N8! So, do you ever do any work in the Indy area? I'm seeing a lot of palm trees in your last few shoots! ;)
n8...I love the blog! Your images from these palm-tree-sprinkled-places are making me very jealous...I'm sure I was born in the wrong area of the country :(
Anyway, I'm with bob- do you work in the Midwest anymore? and I also agree with Angela- the shot of the couple with the palm tree silhouette is great!
I love the boat shots! What a great idea.
