Brother-Sister Team

Nate and I have been together our entire lives for obvious reasons...we are siblings! Some clients have gotten us confused as spouses before but we are definitely NOT that. Maybe it is the bickering that can go back and forth every now and then! Or the fact, that we sometimes finish sentences for one another.

We really do enjoy each other. Sure, we fought like crazy when we were really little. But we have been best friends since I can remember. In fact, Nate was my "Man of Honor" in my wedding. He stood up next to me and all of the bridesmaids. I had never heard of another bride doing that before but it worked for me. Nate, being single at the time, enjoyed getting a lot of the attention from my friends as well. He was the only male allowed to the bachelorette party. He even got his hair done at the salon the day of the wedding.

In any case, these photos prompted me to write this post. I ran across them while designing a family slideshow. I thought they would be fun to post. Plus Nate has been shooting in Florida for a few days...could I possibly miss him?

We used to spend each summer in Westport, Massachusetts where our grandparents owned a summer cottage. Very simple, small, and perfect. We have some wonderful memories there. Big extended family. Lots of eclectic personalities. Crabbing off the dock. Putting on plays. Big wheel races. Sand constantly inbetween our toes. Fresh corn on the cob from the end of the street. And the smell of salty air.

Today I feel very fortunate to have such a fantastic business partner. And, I feel fortunate that we created a business we are so passionate about. We love photography...that is the bottom line. We love capturing personalities. We get really excited about something on a daily basis. And I guess it is partly because our clients continuously feed our creativity.

Sometimes it is so fun to reminisce. What do you remember most about your childhood?

I still remember playing strip poker with Nate when he was a wee-kid. You are both very near and dear to me.
